The “Talk to Sarai” is the first Augmented Reality (AR) cultural heritage mobile application in the Kurdistan Region and the rest of Iraq. The experience centers around the Sarai building, where historical figures and witnesses are digitally revived to share their personal stories from a pivotal moment in history, during and post-British colonialism. The 3rd version is now available in Kurdish, English, and Arabic, on both Android and iOS.
Feel Like Me is a powerful mobile app that uses Augmented Reality (AR) to counter hate speech, discrimination, and promote peaceful coexistence among Iraq’s diverse communities, focusing especially on the experiences of the Yazidi minority. It invites users to momentarily step into the shoes of Yazidi individuals through immersive visuals and storytelling, and lets users leave messages of support that contribute to a growing archive of collective empathy.

Virtual Sarai is an immersive Virtual Reality (VR) experience that transports users into the historic Sarai Museum, located in the iconic Sarai building in Sulaimani. Using VR goggles, visitors can virtually meet and listen to influential historical figures from the early 20th century as they share their stories and memories from a pivotal era, deepening the experience pioneered by the AR project Talk to Sarai.
An Augmented Reality mobile app that augments Hotel Farah, the oldest hotel in Sulaimani (now a museum), with layers of stories and memories. Developed by five youth from Sulaimani as part of our Digital Heritage Internship Program, the app brings statues and collection pieces to life through digital storytelling.
An interactive mobile AR app that brings to light the economic, cultural, and social legacy of Sulaimani's first factory — the Cigarette Factory, now the Culture Factory — blending firsthand testimonies with immersive visuals to reveal how industrial development shaped the city.
An immersive Virtual Reality (VR) project developed during our Digital Heritage Internship Program that brings to life the legacy of Piramerd, a prominent Kurdish poet, writer, and founder of the Zheen printing house and newspaper, fostering historical empathy across generations.
An immersive Virtual Reality (VR) experience that combines heritage, technology, and storytelling to raise awareness of the environmental crisis affecting the Tanjaro River near Sulaimani, seen through the eyes of a local fisherman, an eagle, and a fish.
A ground-breaking virtual reality experience and immersive exhibition commemorating the genocide of the Yazidis by ISIS, combining technology and art — sculpture, painting, photography, VR and AR — to bring viewers closer to the tragedy and inspire action through the #WeAreListening campaign.
