Enlivening The Past, Understanding The Present, Building The Future
Our innovative approach to cultural and heritage preservation and development is driven by two core digital technologies: Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). These state-of-the-art mediums enable us to create immersive and interactive heritage experiences that foster heightened senses of connection, empathy, and active engagement with cultural content. Our AR mobile applications enrich the physical world by layering digital elements onto real environments, while our VR experiences transport users into carefully reconstructed or imaginative virtual environments where interaction with places, stories, and characters is seamless and deeply impactful.
Capacity Building
Since 2021, CHO has delivered more than 80 workshops, courses, seminars, and bi-lingual webinars focused on cultural heritage, digital heritage, creative cities, and grant writing, reaching over 5,700 participants worldwide from 34 countries — including more than 2,300 in-person and 3,400 online. Our Digital Heritage Internship Program (DHIP) is a hands-on, project-based initiative that engages interdisciplinary youth teams across Iraq, providing over 120 hours of instruction in project design, development, promotion, and fundraising for digital cultural heritage projects.
Outreach
Since our founding in 2021, CHO has organized or participated in public events reaching thousands of community members, with outreach at major cultural, academic, and technology festivals such as HITEX and TechFest. So far, over 30,000 community members and international visitors have engaged with our state-of-the-art digital heritage projects, and our school tour program continues to bring cultural identity, creative technology, and digital literacy to local children and youth.
Our impact extends into educational institutions, including universities and institutes, and broader tech and cultural festivals. Through these initiatives, we’ve successfully reached over 8000 individuals. This outreach, embracing universities, institutes, and diverse festivals, is amplified by collaborations with 34 esteemed partners—both local and international—contributing to the resonance and success of our projects.
